AMBER FIBERS WERE PRESENTED AT THE EXPOSITION HUMANIZATION

Humanization was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Latvian National Museum of Art and the project DESIGN MANIFESTATION.

Contemporary design exposition HUMANIZATION is an inspiring and ambitious manifestation of diversity and availability of designs, created in Latvia.

From February 5 to March 29, 2015 the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (10/20 Skarnu str., Riga) shows Latvian contemporary design exposition HUMANIZATION – inspiring and ambitious manifestation of diversity and availability of designs created in Latvia that reveal the potential of design within the framework of any sector and everyday living situation of an individual. It is the second exhibition of Latvian contemporary design exposition and event within the framework of DESIGN MANIFESTATION.

The purpose of design exposition HUMANIZATION is to demonstrate designs created in Latvia as a result of interdisciplinary expression, at the same time breaking established notions about design as an elite phenomenon and revealing its presence and potential in different areas and everyday situations, as well as highlighting possibilities and advantages, which, if identified and used, possibly facilitate the well-being of each individual, enterprise and society, and the economic growth of Latvia.

This exposition from February 5 to March 29 shows more than one hundred Latvian design products, services and opened design processes, demonstrating wide applicability of design and encouraging discussion on more purposeful development and use of its potential. The basic idea of this exhibition was to create different scenes of human life stages, where a main hero survives every day, being at home, at work or on the move, or performing daily rituals – eating, washing and dressing. Environment and content of these life scenes was created, using products, tools and services of Latvian design.

At two of the numerous stands amber fibers are exhibited: fibers possessing biological active properties as well as fibers with double uniform silver coating possessing bactericidal effect of prolonged action mechanism.

The exhibition attracted a huge amount of interested visitors and demonstrated creative and scientific possibilities of Latvian companies.
