according to the program Riga 2014. Students of the Art Academy of Latvia (functional designers, fashion designers, students of the textile department) under the direction of Prof. Ieva Krumina and associate Prof. Barbara Abele, and students of the Research Laboratory of Biotextile Materials under the leadership of Dr.sc.ing. Inga Lyashenko, participated in this project. From 18th March 2014 until 20th March 2014, there were held fact-finding lectures-workshops devoted to the development and application of promising biotextile materials, while formulated unresolved issues in the field of design of the biotextile materials were offered to students for creative solutions. Students attended lectures about long-term plans of development of biotextile materials from the well-known Latvian companies: SIA Tonus Elast, SIA AMBLINE, SIA Verana Cosmetics, SIA AMBERHEALING, SIA JLU Technologies. As an outcome of the lectures students of the department of textile materials offered their own elaborations as to the design of a textile material with amber threads in their structure as well as the new technique of processing material with amber powder. Creative work of students isn't limited by this program and will continue in cooperation with the Latvian companies.
